Orquesta Filarmónica de Puerto Rico
Emanuel conducted two concerts with the Puerto Rico Philharmonic Orchestra
Arturo Somohano. The first was a Children's Concert at Parque Luis Muñoz Rivera
in San Juan, on Sunday, September 3. The orchestra performed the Puerto Rican
premiere of David Rimelis Symphony Street for Narrator and Orchestra,
with guest soprano Melliangie Pérez. Also the children had a chance to dance
and sing to pieces by Quintón, Vivaldi, Rossini, Beethoven, Leroy Anderson,
Johann Strauss and Georges Bizet.
Later that week Emanuel conducted a concert for the Universidad
Politécnica on September 7. The program included selections by Mozart, Vivaldi,
Beethoven, Puccini, Bizet, Gardel, John Williams, Ebb-Kander and other pop
selections. Melliangie Pérez and Rafael Dávila were featured in the Act I
Finale of Puccini's La bohéme.
